TNT Done Blow Things Up May 25, 2008

I just got home, after doing a bunch of stuff half sober from the previous night’s bbq/Guitar Hero/Rock Band fest and knowing that I don’t have The Score (Canada’s indy sports network) — I felt kinda sad-faced emoticoned.
But what’s this? TNT has a page that rips things up to several degrees? This thing is genius, even though I came into this not knowing the score, and I have no idea who’s winning. It seriously is the best thing ever. It gives you a raw feeling to watching a live broadcast that seems pure (ie. no instant replays, not incessant rambling from Doug Collins about his previous day(s) with Michael Jordan punking him like a bitch.)
Man, I wish everyone did this. Like seriously, what if TV shows had alternate angle feeds as your watching it? SEE TONIGHT’S GHOST WHISPERER WITH THE GOD CAM!!!!!

It’s gotta be the jagged stripes on the side that gives it that nostalgic look, at least to me. And come on: DRAGONZOD vs. RAPTOR, WHO YOU GOT!!!! Oh and Raps lose again without Bosh to the Utah Jazz. There’s a message in there somewhere. I think it’s something about cheeseburgers.

Last week, the world was witness to the satirist that is Chris Bosh, PF of the Toronto Raptors. He sure has that funny bonez. Obviously, since I’m the purveyor of “all things basketball players being funny with media”, I already saw Bosh’s ha-ha skills coming
So all that remains to be asked is:

‘Grats to Gil for destroying the nerd patrol. But of course, we all know you’re a nerd yourself, so I guess it all works out. Gilbertology (sidenote: even Firefox says that’s a real word!) has been all over this and so has Gil himself actually.
I neglected to jump all over this, but it’s only because like Nostradamus, I totally called this a year ago (I will never ever be tired of those posts) And I thanked all the others in the past posts before (y’all know who you are, you sly D.C. area peoples!) but I really must take the time to acknowledge mister photographer Brett Stirton of Getty Images. Pat yourself on the back Brett!!

How Will This Effect The 3 People That Watch NBATV? August 20, 2007

I guess this is kinda interesting: NBA TV is selling out to an unknown third party (it better not be SkyNet) I know we all watch NBA TV, like duh. But I mean for those that actually like the whole channel: Any hands?
Note: I think NBA TV is fantasic where the amazing happens. But really? Besides the games and morning round up of highlights, all their other stuff combined really never got my juices flowing, unlike porn. A lot of time I’ve found their analysis segments feel like filler and besides always hilarious Fred “the original Mad Dog” Carter, I never thought anyone on the network was worth an ear—maybe Rick Kamla… maybe.
The documentaries and historical shows are still cool in my books, and I’m betting the new show runners will obviously (I better hope they do!) continue to keep it going. It’s the day the day stuff that I’m very “not caring”.
BUT! I do have a fair question: what happens for us Canadians and Raptors TV? Will they be replaced as well? Perhaps they already knew about it, in cutting out Norma Wick last month as preparation for fresh blood? I only ask because we really need to update and/or destroy some of the segments that’s on RTV. I won’t go into specifics, but one of them I think is called “Double Dribble” or some shit where Eric Smith and Paul Jones do that PTI-like arguing thing where 1/3 of the screen is the topics… you know the deal. They argue, a buzzer is buzzed and that’s it. Please kill it now. Thanks!

FIBA Mascot’s Many Emotions August 15, 2007

First off, sorry to have to approve comments all over again for those leaving a comment, a lil’ delay but I gotcha.
Now onto important matters. As the FIBA Americas tourney in Vegas is coming up next week, I decided it would be wise to check out their shiny site.
But then I got distracted by Jay Jay (perhaps as in: Va-Jay-Jay), the official mascot. I’m not quite sure as to why I’m so distracted by Jay Jay, but something about him (possibly her?) is off. Can’t quite put my finger on it, but I’ll try.
He She It is BLUE with YELLOW hair, I mean, how fucking crazy is that?! And and, he’s wearing at least 5 rings while balling, that’s just stupid, gawd! I can go on and on, but since there’s no official bio, we don’t have the full story. Good thing I’m here. Here’s the Unrelatedness’ version Jay Jay’s many looks

You can see here Jay Jay is kid accessible, wit his inviting embrace and wacky shoes. Awww.

Hmm… Okay JJ is a little off the rockers here. Dressing up a basketball and sniffin’ fries instead of eating it. I think he’s high.

Fathers, don’t let your daughters date Jay Jay. First he pretends to be a gentlemen, but when things don’t go smooth for JJ (can’t get the girl to put out), he goes nunchuck psycho on yous.

NEW NBA BALL.. IS.. WEIRD.. June 28, 2006

I’m not sure about the new NBA Ball. I don’t fully hate it, but it doesn’t strike me as lovely either. I miss the traditional look to be honest. The “enveloping” designs remind me of something veeeerry particular…
