Ah J-Moon. How could I have gone thus far without mentioning you on the site? My bad. You see, this is weird, watching a player like Jamario getting so much excitement from all places when he’s relatively kept under wraps. Few years ago, he would’ve been a great hidden treasure, where Raptor fans squee in delight of their X-Factor.

Now it’s interesting how fast he done blow up. Me thinks it’s got to do with how lame our sacred NBA highlights have been. Sure, J-Smoove and B.Diddy can astound our cerebral cells when they defy physics and sure seeing Deron Williams use his mind to move from Point A to Point A²,  while stapling is defender’s feet to the ground, is optimum in NBA deliciousness. However, there’s no glee of wonderment.

Jamario is rocking that wonderment. He had a shit game against Houston yesterday, but aside from that, I just love seeing his mojo in action that’s unlike a lot of players these days. His style is like a nicely folded paper glider that can launch air to air missiles. It’s a movement difference that’s not unlike how Manu Ginobili is different than the rest of the basketball rhythm.

In conclusion: I want Jamario Moon in the dunk contest.

In the meanwhile, I’m sooo close to being free I can taste it. A couple more days yo. I hear the NBA has been playing games without me. HOW DARE THEY. In any case, back soon for jokes, non-jokes and spacebars.

Whilst I am still a little pressed on “real” “life” projects (no fucking consideration for my blogs eh? bastards!). Here are some things I have done elsewhere which might be of interest:

– Thanks to the MLB geniuses over at the FanHouse a couple weeks back for introducing this, we have the CHRONIC(what!)CLES of Marbury. My entry is deep in the Italy wing here. But really, I’m just going to call it: this whole thing is the Best Comedy Movie of the Year.

– BETUS apparently has a sports podcast, makes sense. I was invited to slur and mutter nonsense last week. Fun was had by all, (thanks D).

– Um… BallHype has a new theme. Woo!

‘Grats to Gil for destroying the nerd patrol. But of course, we all know you’re a nerd yourself, so I guess it all works out. Gilbertology (sidenote: even Firefox says that’s a real word!) has been all over this and so has Gil himself actually.

I neglected to jump all over this, but it’s only because like Nostradamus, I totally called this a year ago (I will never ever be tired of those posts) And I thanked all the others in the past posts before (y’all know who you are, you sly D.C. area peoples!) but I really must take the time to acknowledge mister photographer Brett Stirton of Getty Images. Rick Fox’s allure is not so much his style of play or his highlight reels… because well, there aren’t any… I mean it, can you think of The Defining Rick Fox play? He only really mattered when the Lakers needed to be up 15pts in the 3rd quarter instead of 13pts during those championship runs. Other than that, his game is not memorable at all.

He is the role player to the fullest and somehow I chose to like him.

• And the scientists over at the Goode Store asked silly little Hype here to pitch in a same prediction/preview for the Nuggets. Well, using the ol’ calcula-matron they finally found out I’ve known for a long ass time: I can’t add.

So when we asked, we didn’t explain the experimental aspect; in a credit to bloggers’ kindness, our target participants near-unanimously agreed to help. As we collected data, the bloggers’ responses all were kept blind of one another; moreover, participants were not encouraged to focus solely on won-loss record, as we asked for that fact within the context of a larger survey.

It’s a pretty cool survey of how actually all the top bloggers aren’t just saying their team will make the playoffs simply out of loyalty… there is some “reality” to the predicts! Also, they’ll publish my blood-sweat-typed word on the Nuggs later in the week and I’ll link to it because I CAN!.

But all is not lost, somehow, the lords over at NBA.com decided to bless us with live broadcast of all the Summer League games. Tonight has a couple good looking games, Seattle plays at 6pm and Portland goes up at 10pm where we can see some Durant and Oden action. So perhaps I might update here and there with some thoughts on the games as it happens (or not, I might have raspberries overdose)
